Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani is a love story set in 1945 between a King and a commoner’s daughter, who then goes on to become his queen. Drashti Dhami plays the role of Gayatri daughter of a rich money lender. While she is considered an insignificant part of her own family, Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo (Siddhant Karnick) decides to marry her for political gains. Initially he is unable to give her the position of his wife as he is still in love with his first wife, who died while he was away at waging wars.
